Why We Love BALLERZ
Hello! Why we love BAAALLLERRRZ! I think it’s easy to understand what this article is about. Even tho the project was around for a few months, I just joined it and immediately wanted to write an article about it. Why I like them, why I bought it and I have some community members from Ballerz Discord contributing to this as well. Enjoy.

So if you’ve been on Twitter in the last couple of months you probably have seen these pixelated basketball-inspired pfps called Ballerz! Project on Flow Blockchain build by the team at NFT Genius. Originally available to mint for 200$ in October, with the Dapper balance as a payment option this project quickly got interest from the NBA Top Shot community.
To be honest, originally I wasn’t super interested in it, I thought well I better spend 200$ in the TS marketplace, even tho a lot of my TS friends were into it. I was thinking, well these are just MVP Punks, but on Flow.
Why did I change my mind? Ballerz community. It’s that easy. What I’ve seen from this community since October was just amazing and unlike anything I’ve ever seen from other NFT projects. Friendly, passionate, creative, supporting and the real ballerz, the community blown me away! Which is my I invited a few folks from Ballerz Discord to share why they love the project!

Die-hard NBA fan since 1997. TS was the first NFT project I jumped in. After that I’ve tried different projects but didn’t feel attached to any of those. And then comes Ballerz. Basketball-related with clean pixelated design, not only traits but actual stats of playmaking, dunk, shoot and defense. So you have to dive deep into research to find your perfect players with decent stats for the right price. 40+ teams from 40+ cities. Great community. Strong team of experienced NFTG people supported by serious investors like Mark Cuban and Roham Gharegozlou. They even put together their own marketplace in less than a couple of months. This is too much words, I know. If I could cut it to one I’ll just say… BAAAAAAALLEEEEEEERZ!

Celtics fan since the early 90s. Expanded to entire NBA. Used to get all kinds of swag and memorabilia as a kid. Today I’m a #girldad looking to spread the love of basketball to my daughter and future kids. Ballerz community has been fantastic since I joined, and I’ve even connected with some other parents on here. I see huge potential with the ballerz. Aside from having unique traits and amazing appearances, the application of them is attracting more and more people. We’re early and the HODL is very real!

There are many reasons why I love ballerz but I think the one that keeps coming to the top of my list is the community. It’s unlike anything I’ve seen in or been apart of in my life. There are so many genuine people, SO many creative people and the best part of the community is that we come from all sorts of different backgrounds but we all have one thing in common, the love for BAAALLLLLEEERRRZZZZ!!

I really love all the different ways this NFT project allows you to build a collection! You can focus on rare accessories, body type, skills or just aesthetics. It was extremely addicting. Once I got one, I wanted a starting 5. Then I needed a devil, then an alien and so on! I have a lot of faith in the team and cannot wait for the future of the project!

I love pencils. HB2 are my favorite. But I could always get behind a good mechanical. Click, click. Let’s erase the floor!

Ballerz offers so much depth. Not only can you collect and display Ballerz as a traditional PFP project with traits, but the skills aspect gives Ballerz another dimension. The potential for P2E gamification adds a roster building element that reminds me of creating players and teams in 2k. Now we’re building our own basketball teams in the metaverse. The relatability of basketball and sports along with a growing nft/pfp market combined with $USD/Dapper wallet compatibility makes me optimistic about the future of Ballerz.
The community is also filled with so many smart, creative and generous people who have helped accentuate the Ballerz experience.

Once you get into the discord or begin following Ballerz, you can’t help but want to get in on the action. When you do get your first Ballerz, it only gets better once you plant roots in their community. The energy and enthusiasm is contagious and soon you’ll find yourself yelling “BALLLLERRRRZZZ” out of your car window randomly. If community is what makes a project successful, you are looking at sure-fire blue chip project.

I was initially drawn to the project being a basketball centric PFP project on Flow and the fact that they were using the Dapper wallet was a big plus too. Digging deeper and finding out more about NFTgenius had me further sold. They are legitimate company, experienced in NFTs and with smart investors backing them. For now it a fun community which is fun and very welcoming and inclusive but beyond that the future potential of the project is huge. We don’t know the direction the team is going to take us but with gamification and direct links to the NBA the opportunities are endless.

To me, Ballerz NFT has the potential (keyword here) to become one of the biggest NFT project out there. Ballerz has 3 key elements that separate them from every other projects: Gamification, basketball/NBA connection, and organic reach.
While most NFT projects only have rarity ranking, Ballerz have skills ranking as well. The creators and developers plan to release the Ballerz Basketball League (BBL) soon, and we, as collectors/investor, have to account for this additional factor when selecting a Ballerz. It really does bring another dimension to this NFT project. The second element is the sports’ connection. Basketball is universally recognized, and when an outsider view this project s/he can understand the gist of the project in an instant. Thus, making Ballerz NFT project as a project with less friction for people to understand and to purchase. In addition, a majority of NFT Genius’s seed round investors all have strong connection to the NBA (Roham of DapperLabs, Mark Cuban, and Ashton Kutcher). Hopefully, Ballerz NFT will leverage those connections and we might see NBA stars changing their pfp to Ballerz pfp. The last and most important element is the community, and this project has some of the strongest evangelists out there (First Mint members, Ballerz Bulletin, NBA star Duncan Robinson, @joeschroe85, @justin_brown_TS, etc). It is bullish to see how many initiatives and Twitter posts were done organically by the community.
The stage is set and will come down to execution, but I am hyped about the Ballerz project for the three reasons listed above.
Hey, it’s Alex, I’m back. And these are just a few of thousands of community members who love Ballerz! As you can see the project resonates and connects with people for many different reasons. They grew on me, first I was not being really into it, now I do think they look really cool, in fact, I’ve spent almost a month trying to find my Baller cause I thought there are so many good looking ones and I’m sure everyone can find one that fits them.
I wanted a Baller that much that I traded one of my precious Top Shot packs for it, no regrets cause I got in on the project that I wanted to be a part of. The future is looking bright and the possibilities are endless. Even before I joined the Ballerz family, its community was always super nice to me and even was trying to help me find my Baller. Which I did and I love her!
And after I did get one, the warm welcome I received was out of this world! Ballerz are here to stay! And I’m excited to see what’s to come from the team and the community itself! Not a Baller yet? That’s okay, we hope you join us. If you’re already, that’s awesome, can’t wait to get to know all my Ballerz a bit better. Thank you so much for reading and happy collecting!
